Lake County Board - 2/10/2009
There is not a consistent application of the rules by leadership of the Lake County Board regarding public comment and official agenda items.
Per Chairwoman Schmidt's statement, "it is the board's policy to not allow discussion of politics and campaigns" -- yet some speakers are allowed to talk while others do not get such
a chance when it is thought they will stray into political discourse. Schmidt also raised a political matter herself regarding the content
of political campaign mailers, an item not placed in the agenda. Some members felt blind sided.
